Key Competencies & Interview Evaluation for Astronomer

Primary Role Evaluation Focus:

Evaluates deep open-source ecosystem fluency, particularly around Apache Airflow, and the ability to scale distributed data orchestration platforms.

📋 Key Preparation Priorities (What to highlight):

1. Dismissing the open-source community model or treating OSS contributions as a mere resume filler
2. Lacking fundamental intuition around distributed systems failure modes
3. Proposing monolithic architectures for highly scalable orchestration problems

✨ Recommended Role Alignment Hook:

I have spent my career scaling data orchestration pipelines and contributing to the open-source ecosystems that power modern data infrastructure.
