About Alumni Ventures

Alumni Ventures is one of the world’s most active venture capital platforms, with $1.4B+ in assets raised and investments in 1,600+ companies. Our network of 850,000+ members and 40+ dedicated investors connects accredited individuals to high-quality venture deals—typically reserved for institutions—through our alumni-driven communities and diversified co-investment strategy. With offices in Boston, New York, Chicago, Menlo Park, Manchester, NH, London and Tokyo we’re rapidly growing and committed to fueling entrepreneurial success while developing the next generation of VC professionals.

We believe our best work happens when we’re together. AV operates as a 5-day-a-week, in-office culture because collaboration, mentorship, and shared momentum matter.

About the Role

Alumni Ventures manages relationships with over 13,000 investors across a portfolio of venture investment vehicles. Delivering a high-quality experience at that scale requires operational infrastructure that is accurate, reliable, and built to grow — across distributions, tax reporting, fund performance, investor feedback programs, and service operations.

The Sr. Manager, Investor Operations is responsible for owning and continuously improving the programs and systems that make that infrastructure work. This means executing recurring programs with rigor and precision, driving cross-functional coordination across Finance, Technology, Fund Accounting, and Communications, and identifying opportunities to leverage automation and technology to increase accuracy, reduce friction, and build scalable processes.

This is an individual contributor role. The right person brings strong operational instincts, deep comfort with data and reporting tools, cross-functional project management experience, and a bias for building durable systems. They hold a high bar for process quality and are energized by the challenge of making complex, high-stakes data operations run more effectively over time.

🎯 Candidate Preparation Guide For Alumniventures Applicants

Key Role Competencies & Evaluation Highlights

Key Role Focus:

Assesses high-velocity networking, investor relations aptitude, and an entrepreneurial bias toward action within a decentralized syndication model.

📋 Preparation Priorities (Key Areas to Clarify):
  • 1. Treating venture capital purely as passive investing rather than a high-touch sales and relationship business.
  • 2. Failing to show a clear understanding of the venture syndication or fund-of-funds model.
  • 3. Being overly risk-averse or lacking comfort with high-growth ambiguity.
✨ Recommended Role Alignment Hook:

I bridge the gap between high-net-worth network building and rigorous deal-flow qualification to accelerate fund deployment.
