Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, invites applications for our Summer 2028 Investment Analyst Internships. As a summer analyst at WAM, you will collaborate closely with our investment team, which invests globally in equities, derivatives, and fixed income through fundamental and quantitative strategies.

WAM offers two recruiting tracks, both of which lead to the same summer program:

  • The fundamental process evaluates research skills and fundamental analysis. Applications are expected to open in December 2026.
  • The quantitative process emphasizes skills like coding, statistics, and game theory. Applications are expected to open in February 2027.

As a multi-strategy firm without a traditional pod structure, interns gain exposure to both fundamental and quantitative approaches, regardless of the interview track they choose.

Why Intern at Weiss?

  • We have the flexibility to tailor projects for each intern to allow him or her to demonstrate current skills and to develop new ones. Our investment team operates as one team rather than in siloes, which maximizes learning opportunities for interns and analysts.
  • We host a variety of events both inside and outside the office to help interns build personal connections with senior investment staff and the broader fir

Extreme analytical rigor, mathematical precision, and an absolute obsession with intellectual honesty and data-backed decision-making.

📋 Preparation Priorities (Key Areas to Clarify):
  • 1. Hand-waving through technical or quantitative assumptions without rigorous validation.
  • 2. Arrogance or defensiveness when your thesis or methodology is heavily cross-examined.
  • 3. Lack of direct experience dealing with massive, messy, real-world datasets.
✨ Recommended Role Alignment Hook:

I build robust, quantitative systems by ruthlessly stripping away assumptions and letting the empirical data drive the architecture.
